ANU Malaysia Institute roundtable discussion with Nurul Izzah Anwar

The ANU Malaysia Institute was delighted to host a roundtable discussion with Nurul Izzah Anwar, a Malaysian politician and former Member of Parliament for Permatang Pauh (2018-2022) and Lembah Pantai (2008-2018). She also previously served as Deputy President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (People's Justice Party).

The discussion brought together members of the Institute and representatives from the High Commission of Malaysia for a thoughtful exchange on a range of issues shaping Malaysia and the broader region. Topics included Islamic-based approaches to community welfare, social policy for youth and women, multiracial and coalition politics, education, and avenues for inclusive development. The lively and wide-ranging conversation continued over an informal lunch.
